Overview

ClearTrack is a personal utility to look up Delhi Traffic Police challans/notices for a vehicle and download each notice as a PDF. The optional ClearTrack Token Sync browser extension captures your court-portal login token so you can copy and paste it into ClearTrack. This policy explains what data is handled and how.

What data is involved

  • Vehicle registration number you enter, used to query challans.
  • Bearer token from your Delhi Traffic Police evening-court login, used to authenticate lookup and booking requests.
  • Court booking details, including all eligible notice and challan identifiers, date, court complex, and session you confirm.

No ClearTrack accounts, analytics, advertising identifiers, or tracking are used. Personal details returned by the official API are displayed for the lookup but are not retained by ClearTrack.

How the web app uses it

When you look up or book notices, the vehicle number, token, and confirmed booking details are sent from your browser to a serverless function hosted with the app, which forwards the request to the official Delhi Traffic Police API (traffic.delhipolice.gov.in) — this proxy exists only to work around browser cross-origin restrictions. The token and vehicle number and booking details are not stored or logged by ClearTrack, and the PDF is generated entirely in your browser.

How the extension uses it

After you log in to the court portal, the extension reads the login token from that site and stores it in your browser's local extension storage on your device only. It copies the token to your clipboard only when you click Copy token. The popup uses the local capture time to show its 20-minute validity window and disables copying after that time. The extension does not transmit the token to any server, and the token is never sold or shared with third parties. After you paste it into ClearTrack, the web app handles it as described above.

Data retention

Nothing is persisted on the app's servers. The token remains in your browser's local storage until you clear it (via the extension's “Clear token” button, or by clearing your browser data). The extension marks a captured token expired after its 20-minute validity window and prevents copying that stale value.

Third parties

Requests are made only to the official Delhi Traffic Police portal to retrieve your own challan data. ClearTrack is an independent tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the Delhi Police.
